Lancaster’s Custom Dock & Lift Systems, Inc. in Troutman, NC is seeking a Construction Estimator lead for premium waterfront and outdoor builds.

You will translate architectural visions into precise financial plans, drive bid development, and mentor in unique marine construction methods. Responsibilities include creating cost estimates for docks and shoreline structures, extracting quantities from detailed plans, and evaluating vendor quotes to maintain profitability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction estimating or a closely related technical field.
• Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and structural drawings.
• Advanced technical skills in Excel and standard construction estimating or project management software.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple bidding deadlines simultaneously with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills necessary for negotiating with vendors and presenting to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Formulate comprehensive cost estimates for high-end docks, decks, and shoreline structures to ensure project profitability.
• Execute precise quantity take-offs from detailed plans and specifications to minimize material waste.
• Analyze blueprints and technical drawings to define project scopes and identify potential structural hurdles.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to maintain competitive pricing and high-quality standards.
• Coordinate with project managers and field leadership to ensure seamless handoffs from bid to build.
• Identify strategic cost-saving opportunities and project risks during the initial preconstruction phase.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of pricing trends and historical data to refine future bidding accuracy.
