Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Water/wastewater Project Manager to lead complex projects with expert technical guidance, client management, and team leadership. The role supports collaboration with engineers, scientists, and planners to deliver innovative water and wastewater solutions while fostering long-term client relationships.

The position offers a hybrid schedule with offices in Manchester NH, Portland ME, or Boston MA, and requires PE licensure and 8+ years in water/wastewater engineering.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering and design.
• 3+ years of Project Management experience, including municipal/utility projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Strong expertise in design, planning, and construction of water/wastewater systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead water/wastewater projects from planning through execution, on time and within budget.
• Provide technical direction to project teams and ensure high design/quality standards.
• Manage municipal and utility client relationships for long-term contracts and project success.
• Mentor staff and support technical/professional growth.
• Participate in proposals and scoping with clients to identify new opportunities and expand services.
• Oversee scheduling, cost management, and resource allocation for projects.
• Collaborate cross-disciplinarily with engineers, scientists, and planners.
• Contribute to conferences, committees and internal development programs.
