Job summary

Jobot is seeking a seasoned Civil/Environmental Engineer to lead water/wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects from planning through construction. You will manage delivery within budgets and schedules, supervise a team of engineers, and prepare construction documents and cost estimates.

The role requires a CA-registered PE or ability to obtain within a year, 10+ years in the field, and strong leadership for client-facing engagements with public utilities and developers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering, or closely related field with a focus in water resources, environmental, or hydraulic engineering.
  • PE Registration in California, or ability to obtain CA registration within 1 yr.
  • 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater, stormwater planning, design, and construction administration as a lead design engineer or project manager.
  • Strong team leadership experience or proven potential, including managing project delivery expectations, prioritization of tasks, and mentoring.
  • Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, and Civil3D.
  • Stormwater system design projects, including drainage infrastructure, and comprehensive stormwater master planning are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct design/technical development of infrastructure projects within water/wastewater, stormwater, including supply, storage, collection and distribution, treatment, and pumping/conveyance systems.
  • Delivery of projects to meet budgets and delivery schedules per client expectations.
  • Prepare construction documents, including plans and specifications; prepare project cost estimates and schedules.
  • Provide overall supervision and technical direction to a team of design engineers and technical staff.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplined engineering teams and support client pursuits and proposals.
  • Serve as a primary client-facing leader, strengthen relationships, and identify opportunities.
  • Attend meetings with municipal officials, engineers, developers, permitting agencies, and contractors.
  • Actively participate in relevant professional organizations.
