Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Water/Wastewater Treatment Systems, with the aim to grow into a Principal/Practice Leader. The role focuses on managing projects, mentoring teams, and developing client relationships in a water/wastewater engineering practice.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of relevant experience, a PE license, and strong communication skills. Remote or Roseville, CA-based position with relocation assistance and travel <20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
• 15+ years of related experience in water/wastewater projects in a design/engineering consulting environment.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise multiple projects to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and clear communication with clients.
• Lead client meetings to establish project schedules and expectations.
• Demonstrate expertise in water treatment design and related wastewater utility engineering principles.
• Serve as project manager lead; strengthen client relationships.
• With support from teams, recruit and direct staff and sub-consultants to meet schedules.
• Seize opportunities to build the practice with company support.
