Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Water/wastewater Project Manager to lead and manage complex projects, providing technical guidance, client management, and team leadership. The role supports a hybrid schedule with offices in Manchester, NH, Portland, ME, and Boston.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 8+ years in water/wastewater engineering and 3+ years in project management, along with strong communication and writing skills to deliver municipal solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering and design.
• 3+ years of Project Management experience, including municipal and utility projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Strong expertise in design, planning, and construction of water/wastewater systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex water/wastewater projects from planning through execution, on time and within budget.
• Provide technical direction to project teams and ensure high design and quality standards.
• Build and foster relationships with municipal and utility clients for long-term contracts.
• Mentor and develop staff to support their technical and professional growth.
• Participate in proposals and scoping activities with clients to identify new opportunities.
• Oversee scheduling, cost management, and resource allocation for projects.
• Collaborate across disciplines with engineers, scientists, and planners.
• Contribute to technical conferences, committees, and internal development programs.
