Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer in Abilene, TX is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our hybrid team. You will participate in planning, design, and construction oversight for drinking water and wastewater upgrades, conveyance systems, and asset management, with fieldwork as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering required.
• Advanced degree is preferred for deeper technical leadership.
• Strong communication, organization, and detail orientation essential.
• PE license is required.
• Experience in planning, design, or construction of water-related projects desired.
• Proficiency with MS Office and engineering software helpful.

Responsibilities

• Participation in the evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, stormwater, reuse, and infrastructure projects.
• Participation in a project team from initial study through construction of major water-related projects.
• Fieldwork and site visits from design through construction may be required.
• Project management of large or multiple small projects.
• Client development and management with local offices.
• Supervise staff and plan/organize engineers on projects.
