Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Director in Memphis to lead multi-million dollar water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will guide the Memphis team, drive client engagement, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while aligning with the firm’s ESOP-based, employee-owned culture.

As a member of the Water / Wastewater leadership, you will mentor staff, manage budgets, and collaborate across disciplines to win new work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
• 15+ years of business development and project management experience.
• Professional Engineering License preferred or required as applicable.
• Strong understanding of wastewater and water markets and trends.
• Proven sales, leadership, and communication skills with client focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development activities including marketing, strategy, proposals, client presentations and budgeting.
• Oversee project management activities, engage with clients, develop market plans, and leverage resources to grow market footprint.
• Provide project execution leadership: manage engineers, set performance goals, ensure delivery and financials, and conduct reviews.
• Lead staff development, mentoring, coaching, and succession planning to expand the team.
