Job summary

City of Anna, Texas is seeking a Water/Wastewater Operator to ensure safe, efficient operation, maintenance, and control of the city’s water and wastewater systems, including treatment, storage, and distribution.

The role involves assisting with testing, data recording, monitoring, and responding to customer concerns; requires a valid Driver's license and at least one TCEQ license with the ability to obtain additional licenses within stated timeframes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus two years of water/wastewater treatment experience.
• Basic: Spreadsheet and Word Processing/Typing.
• Must possess a valid Class C Driver’s license at hire.
• Must possess at least one TCEQ License in water or wastewater treatment.
• Ability to obtain additional licenses (B water, B wastewater, Class D Water, Class C Groundwater) within specified timeframes.
• CSI or Backflow License preferred.
• Pre-employment drug screen, background and MVR checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Operator with routine testing (chlorine, pH, turbidity, etc.) and data recording as required.
• Maintain Water Monitoring Plan and coordinate testing as needed.
• Collect bacteriological samples and respond to water quality concerns.
• Monitor SCADA and adjust flows, chemical dosages, and other rates.
• Inspect and operate system equipment and maintain pumps and lift stations.
• Provide maintenance support across departments as needed.
