Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to drive accurate, competitive estimates for water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Fort Worth, TX. You will work closely with operations and project management from bid through handoff, evaluating scope, constructability, and risk beyond simple takeoffs.

The role requires reading plans and specs, cost analysis, and coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water and wastewater projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and contract documents.
• Solid quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to set projects up for execution.
