Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a skilled Environmental Engineer focused on water and wastewater systems to join our Tennessee team. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment solutions, collaborating on projects that safeguard resources and support sustainable water management.

With a strong foundation in environmental engineering, you will work on diverse projects, review designs for regulatory compliance, and help mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and workload.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations and related facilities to meet client requirements.
• Review drafts and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and sign off on completed designs.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff; mentor for growth within the discipline.
• Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to RFPs and review client needs and design requirements.
• Perform water quality analyses and modeling.
