Job summary

Forsgren Associates, Inc. is seeking a Managing Engineer to lead a team of engineers on water and wastewater projects from planning through construction. You will drive schedules, budgets, quality, and workload while expanding client relationships and opportunities across the western United States.

The role emphasizes mentorship, strategic planning, and high-performance leadership to ensure quality, accountability, and sustainable growth. Utah licensure or the ability to obtain PE is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Utah (or ability to obtain).
• 10+ years of water/wastewater engineering experience.
• Experience with project proposals, scopes, budgets, and successful execution of engineering projects.
• Strong staff mentorship and performance management capabilities.
• Experience with strategic planning, client development, and operational oversight.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers and technical staff on water/wastewater infrastructure projects from planning through construction.
• Drive operational excellence by monitoring schedules, budgets, quality, and workloads.
• Strengthen and expand client relationships and workload through value-driven engineering solutions.
• Mentor staff to cultivate a high-performing team culture focused on quality and accountability.
• Develop and strengthen client relationships by identifying new business opportunities and supporting regional growth.
• Partner with division leadership on strategic planning, business development, and client relationship management across the western U.S.
• Play a central role in talent development and long-term organizational sustainability.
