Job summary

The City of Round Rock is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead complex water distribution, treatment, and wastewater projects from concept through construction. The role serves as a technical resource across Public Works and external partners, delivering designs that meet safety, efficiency, and regulatory standards.

The position requires a PE in Texas, a Bachelor’s in Engineering, and at least five years of professional experience; a Master’s may substitute for two years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college.
• At least five years of professional engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license in Texas, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License or ability to obtain one before employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and management of major water and wastewater CIP projects.
• Review and develop complex plans for water and wastewater systems.
• Manage projects through design, permitting, bidding, construction, and closeout.
• Provide technical guidance on code requirements and design standards.
• Oversee construction contracts, permits, and contractor payments.
• Conduct site visits and provide engineering oversight.
