Job summary

City of Naperville's Department of Public Utilities is seeking a Senior Water Utility Technician – Water Supply to perform skilled and semi-skilled work in operation, inspection, and maintenance of the city's water supply facilities. The position requires at least three years of experience, an Illinois driver's license, and the ability to obtain IEPA Class C certification within one year.

Work is performed at the Water Service Center on Ogden Avenue, with day-to-day responsibilities including

Qualifications

At least three years of responsible experience in operation and/or maintenance of a water supply facility or related environment.
A high school diploma or equivalent.
A valid IEPA Class C Certificate of Competency as a Public Water Supply Operator or the ability to obtain one within one year of employment.
A valid State of Illinois driver's license.

Responsibilities

Monitors water supply system to ensure proper pumping, pressures, and storage levels.
Repairs and maintains water supply and treatment equipment, PLCs, valves, and pumps.
Maintains daily records of operations, water usage, and chemical feeds.
Operates and transports chemicals and equipment to various facilities as needed.
Adheres to safety policies and prepares monthly regulatory reports.
