Job summary

American Water seeks a Senior Operator, Water Treatment in Highland Falls, NY to independently operate, maintain, and inspect water treatment systems at plants and wells. You will collect samples, adjust chemical feeds, and prepare regulatory reports as required.

You will also assist with wastewater activities and participate in repairs, with daily logs and adherence to EH&S policies. A state license and high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• Three years in operation of water treatment processes, well systems and water distribution system operation and repair.
• Current state water operator license required.
• Must possess a valid, active state driver’s license.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect water treatment systems to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collect water samples and prepare regulatory reports.
• Assist in wastewater collection system repairs as needed.
• Maintain logs and records in operations software.
