Job summary

American Water is seeking a Systems Operator U395 to join our water operations team. The role involves operating treatment facilities, monitoring hydraulic and chemical processes, and ensuring safe, reliable water production and delivery.

You will work with computer control systems, maintain plant records, perform water quality tests, and respond to inquiries while upholding safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of hydraulic, chemical and electrical equipment and processes.
• Certified Emergency Responder Technician required.
• Valid New Jersey Driver's License.
• T-2 or W-2 license required; NJ T-2 license required.
• Pass TCPA and OSHA medical examinations.

Responsibilities

• Operate the water treatment facility and appurtenances to ensure safe, reliable water production and delivery.
• Review, monitor, and adjust hydraulic and chemical processes to meet water quality standards.
• Operate and adjust computer control systems to protect facility, transmission and distribution systems.
• Prioritize and coordinate tasks for efficient, safe operation of the facility.
• Maintain accurate plant and systems records and reports.
• Perform water treatment tests and adjust treatment as needed to ensure water quality.
