Job summary

The Metropolitan District (MDC) seeks a seasoned supervisor for water and sewer pipeline construction, repair, and maintenance. You will supervise crews, coordinate with engineers, plan projects, and ensure safe, compliant operations.

Responsibilities include directing daily work, responding to emergencies, reviewing plans, and mentoring staff while enforcing union and district policies. This role requires strong leadership and practical knowledge of pipeline systems.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of water and sewer pipeline construction and repair principles.
• Public administration principles for work unit reporting and procedures.
• OSHA guidelines and work zone safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, assigns, supervises and evaluates a large crew on water/sewer projects.
• Oversees daily and emergency repairs and cross-department scheduling.
• Maintains utility service records, permitting, CBYD operations, backflow programs, and claims procedures.
• Coordinates maintenance of sanitary/storm systems, meters, valves, gates, and manholes.
• Interprets complex construction plans and directs work accordingly.
• Trains and counsels staff; enforces safety and disciplinary policies.
