Job summary

Spencer Ogden is supporting an established environmental consulting firm in the Pacific Northwest with a senior leadership role for a Principal Water Resources Engineer / Hydrogeologist. You will lead water resources projects and build client relationships across WA and OR.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, mentoring, and business development, with focus on groundwater, water-rights, and regulatory compliance in the Pacific Northwest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, engineering or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of relevant water resources or hydrogeology experience.
• Strong experience with groundwater, water supply and/or water rights.
• Detailed knowledge of Pacific Northwest hydrogeology and the regulatory environment.
• Experience working with water resources clients across Washington and/or Oregon.
• Demonstrated project management and client relationship skills.
• Experience supporting business development and generating new work.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Professional registration such as LHG, LG/RG, PE or CWRE is highly desirable.
• Groundwater and/or surface-water modeling experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead water resources and hydrogeology projects from proposal development through project execution.
• Manage and develop long-term client relationships.
• Identify new opportunities and support continued growth of the water resources practice.
• Lead water rights assessments, transfers and applications across Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
• Analyze and interpret hydrologic, hydrogeologic and water-quality data.
• Support water-supply development projects, including supply wells, aquifer storage and recovery systems and injection wells.
• Provide senior technical review across water-supply, water-rights and hydrogeologic evaluation projects.
• Prepare and review technical reports and regulatory documentation.
• Mentor and support the development of junior technical staff.
