Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to lead a range of water resources projects, including stormwater management, floodplain studies, and hydrologic modeling. The role offers client interaction, mentorship, and opportunities for business development.

Posting locations include Champaign, Chicago, Lisle, Normal, and Tinley Park, IL. A BS in civil, environmental, or agricultural engineering, 10+ years of experience, and a PE license are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Agricultural, or Environmental Engineering
• 10+ years of engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license

Responsibilities

• Manage several projects simultaneously within the water resources discipline from inception to completion.
• Design a variety of water resources engineering projects, including natural channel design, green infrastructure, detention projects, culvert design, and IDOT highway storm sewer systems.
• Perform hydrology and hydraulic modeling and analysis
• Conduct floodplain and drainage studies
• Prepare reports on engineering analyses and model results
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to determine stormwater requirements and facilitate permit approvals
• Pursue new opportunities through business development efforts
• Lead and mentor junior staff on engineering projects.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with clients.

Education

BS in Civil, Agricultural, or Environmental Engineering

10+ years experience in engineering field

Professional Engineering License

Tools

H&H modeling software (EPA-SWMM, PC-SWMM, HEC-RAS 2D, HEC-HMS, Hydraflow)

AutoCAD

Civil 3D

GIS

IDOT regulations knowledge
