AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Senior Water Resources Engineer Group Lead in Henderson, NV to supervise and mentor staff on flood control and drainage design projects. You will manage inter-disciplinary studies, coordinate with clients, and oversee modelling, reports and budgets.

The ideal candidate holds a P.E. license, a Civil Engineering degree, and 15 years of relevant experience. Strong communication and writing skills are essential, with experience in arid-region hydraulics a plus.

Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer Group Lead to join our Henderson, NV office. This role will supervise other engineering staff and support projects and tasks related to flood control design, highway drainage, stormwater/flood control master planning, hydrologic & hydraulic modelling, and FEMA CLOMR/LOMR submittals. This role will manage drainage/flood control design tasks on large, inter-disciplinary projects and be project manager for local projects/studies.

Your role

• Lead and mentor junior engineers in the development of design concepts.
• Markets company services and pursue new project opportunities by maintaining contacts with current and prospective clients.
• Coordinate with clients and stakeholders. Coordinate with other disciplines.
• Plan and review the production of engineering investigations, models, planning work, reports, drawings and specifications.
• Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for new projects, weighing alternatives and selecting the most cost-effective solution.
• Analyze technical problems, assess the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devise new approaches and alternative solutions.
• Analyze project dimension and scope, and prepare or oversee the preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules and job budgets.
• Coordinate work with other project and task managers, guides others on drafting and design of preliminary and final plans, guides others on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and preparation of studies/reports.
• Provide quality control and maintain quality standards, check work performed by others.
• Manage projects.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

About you

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering. This level may be achieved by Engineers with 15 years' experience.
• Experience with major projects and alternative delivery is a plus but not a requirement.
• Understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic design principles and applications in arid regions, preferably in Southern Nevada.
• Good technical writing, computer and verbal communications skills.
• P.E. license is required.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $135,000 - $198,000 annually hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
