AtkinsRéalis USA Inc. in Henderson, NV is seeking a CAD Designer (Water Infrastructure) to deliver concept and final designs for complex utilities and water/wastewater systems. You will coordinate CAD/BIM production across disciplines, mentor junior staff, and ensure BIM standards and project phasing are followed.

The role requires a strong background in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit and Plant 3D, with multi-office collaboration and excellent communication with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or architecture or equivalent discipline.
• Extensive multi-discipline project experience with CAD/BIM tools.
• Experience leading CAD/BIM workflows and teams.
• Strong ability to coordinate with internal/external clients.

Job Description Overview

We are seeking a CAD Designer (Water Infrastructure) to join our team in Henderson, NV office.

• Typical duties will involve conceptual and final design of utilities, grading, pavement and drainage, mechanical details for structures or bridges, roadway alignment, sanitary sewer pump station, and water & sewer systems/treatment plant design, etc.
• Reads and interprets survey data, legal description, government standards and codes, and applies to design.
• Performs calculations, utilizing knowledge of algebra, geometry and trigonometry as required.
• Develops and lays out conceptual designs for proposals to be reviewed by senior technical professionals or project managers for conformance with specifications and client requirements.
• Develops and lays out final plan designs on assigned project or portions of projects.
• Performs designs utilizing CAD.
• Develops sections of projects or details for construction projects.
• May prepare exhibits, specifications, cost estimates and permit applications.
• Maintains good knowledge of governmental regulations, codes and ordinances and applies them to plans, as needed.
• Manages BIM support and coordination on multi-discipline projects.
• Performs project oversight associated with overall BIM management activities.
• Provides oversight and training to young designers and engineers.
• Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

About you

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or equivalent technical discipline plus a minimum of five years' experience, or Associate's degree plus a minimum of twelve years progressive drafting and design experience, including at least four as a Designer. Must have experience on multi-discipline projects utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3-D, Revit and Plant 3D with expertise in at least one of the software platforms. Proven experience with CAD team management, AutoDesk Construction Cloud folder setup, project folder maintenance, and project phasing. Must have strong communication skills for both internal and external clients, be willing to set and enforce BIM standards, provide creative and innovative solutions to design processes. Requires demonstrated knowledge and hands‑on expertise in multi‑discipline water infrastructure project delivery using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and Plant 3D, with advanced proficiency in at least one platform and the ability to apply that expertise to efficiently coordinate design production. Requires proven experience leading CAD/BIM production workflows, including CAD team coordination, Autodesk Construction Cloud folder structure setup, project file organization and maintenance, model and drawing coordination, and support for phased project delivery. Requires strong technical communication skills with both internal teams and external clients, sound judgment in establishing and enforcing BIM standards, and the ability to provide practical, innovative solutions that improve design quality, coordination, and delivery efficiency. Requires the ability to build and strengthen high‑performing design teams by fostering collaboration, accountability, and consistent delivery practices across offices. This role will also require working effectively with designers, engineers, project managers, and other professionals in multiple design offices across the globe, while actively training, mentoring, and developing staff to support technical growth and project execution.
