Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Senior Water Resources Engineer in Henderson, NV to lead design for flood control, highway drainage, and stormwater master planning. You will model hydrology/hydraulics, review investigations, and prepare estimates while guiding junior engineers and coordinating with project managers.

The role requires a B.S. or M.S. in civil engineering, a P.E. license, and strong communication skills. Experience in arid-region design is preferred, with opportunities for project leadership.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering required; seven years with B.S. or six years with M.S.
• P.E. license is required.
• Understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic design in arid regions, preferably Southern Nevada.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior engineers in developing design concepts.
• Plan and review production of investigations, planning work, drawings and specs.
• Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for projects, weighing alternatives.
• Analyze technical problems and devise new approaches and solutions.
• Analyze project scope and prepare cost, manpower estimates and schedules.
• Coordinate work with project managers and guide drafting and design in plans.
• Provide quality control and maintain standards; check others' work.
• Occasionally manage projects.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
