Job summary

Wilson Engineers seeks an experienced Hydraulic Engineer - Civil Engineer to join our Las Vegas office. This 40-hour/week role supports our Northern Nevada operations. Relocation assistance available for well-qualified candidates!

We model hydrology and hydraulics using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Flo-2D and prepare drainage drawings with AutoCAD/MicroStation, mentoring EIT staff along the way.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of drainage experience.
• PE license preferred.
• Proficient with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Flo-2D.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS and QGIS; GISP certification desirable.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods and techniques.
• Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications for projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepares hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Flo-2D.
• Prepares hydrologic/hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting.
• Researches drainage requirements for design and drawings.
• Oversees drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD & MicroStation.
• Performs data management and prepares exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS.
• Works as a member of a multi-discipline team.
• Mentors EIT staff on hydrologic and hydraulic theory.
• Conducts site visits and documents findings.
• Writes and coordinates preparation of graphic materials for presentations.
