We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex water resources projects. This role will involve applying advanced technical expertise to flood risk management, stormwater drainage, hydrology, hydraulic modelling, water management, and climate resilience initiatives. You will work across multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions for public and private sector clients.
Key responsibilities will include managing technical workstreams and project deliverables; preparing feasibility studies, concept designs, detailed designs, technical reports, specifications, and tender documentation; undertaking hydrologic and hydraulic assessments; and reviewing modelling outputs to support sound engineering recommendations. You will provide technical guidance to engineers and graduates, contribute to project planning and financial management, liaise with clients, regulators, contractors, and stakeholders, and support business development through proposals, presentations, and technical input. The role may also involve site inspections, construction support, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and environmental requirements.
Applicants should hold a degree in civil engineering, water engineering, environmental engineering, or a related discipline, together with substantial professional experience in water resources engineering. Experience with industry-standard hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software, drainage and flood studies, water infrastructure design, and relevant design guidelines is required. Professional registration or eligibility for registration will be highly regarded. You will be an effective communicator with strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes. A collaborative approach, commercial awareness, and commitment to safety, sustainability, and technical excellence are essential. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to varied, high-impact projects while supporting the development of a capable and inclusive technical team.
