Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) seeks a Project Engineer with strong project management experience and a Texas PE license or ability to obtain one within six months. The role focuses on delivering capital improvement projects in water and wastewater infrastructure, coordinating with multiple departments and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Minimum 2 years with PE or 6 years progressive PM experience on water/wastewater projects.
Experience with design reports, plans, specs and project documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design/scheduling tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead design and construction management for capital improvement projects from inception to startup.
Act as project leader for major water/wastewater initiatives ensuring NTMWD standards and regulatory compliance.
Review design reports, plans and specifications for completeness and accuracy.
Maintain accurate project records in NTMWD systems and prepare cost updates.
Coordinate with Operations and other departments for tie-ins and shutdowns.
Oversee startup, testing, commissioning and final record drawings.
Manage special projects and assist in professional services contracts selection.
