Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Construction Manager/Resident Engineer to lead field CM teams across California and the West Coast on water resources projects including dams, levees, pipelines, canals, and treatment facilities.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years of CM experience, with constructability review and QA responsibilities, and are able to travel to job sites. Location flexibility supports Irvine, Los Angeles, Sacramento, and Seattle projects.

Qualifications

• 15-25 years or more of previous related professional experience.
• Experience with Construction Management of water resources projects in California or other West Coast agencies with large infrastructure, such as dams, spillways, levees, pipelines, pump stations, canals, wells, W/WW treatment facilities and/ or groundwater recharge facilities.
• Willing to travel to jobsites.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead CM/Resident Engineer on large water-related projects with costs from up to $100M+.
• Head CM teams including staff and sub-consultants across numerous CM functions.
• Be on-site full-time during project execution as required.
• Develop and implement Quality Control, QA, and Health & Safety Plans.
• Coordinate with Client, Designer, Contractor, and Regulators to resolve issues
• Be client-facing, reporting progress and gathering feedback.
• Mentor and develop CM staff during project execution.
• Support feasibility and constructability reviews, bidability reviews, and cost estimates.
• Support internal CM training and hiring processes.
