Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Lead Water Engineer to join our Water team in the Seattle area. The Lead Water Engineer will lead project teams for key regional clients in planning, design and construction of complex water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment, collection systems, pumping, distribution and storage, with regulatory support.

The successful candidate will mentor staff, develop technical reports, oversee proposals, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with interdisciplinary

Qualifications

• Education: B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering; M.S. preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering consulting for municipal clients.
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure required; strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Experience coordinating with interdisciplinary teams (structural, geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, etc.).
• Client-focused with a commitment to innovative, sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead teams to pursue water/wastewater opportunities; develop proposals.
• Lead design of complex water/wastewater projects, including hydraulic calculations, specs, and construction cost opinions.
• Develop technical reports, studies, and memoranda to support engineering analyses for clients.
• Manage projects and resources: budgets, schedules, staffing, client coordination, invoicing.
• Mentor staff and provide technical oversight and support.
• Present project deliverables to clients as required.
