Job summary

TYLin in Seattle is seeking a Lead Water Engineer to lead project teams for regional clients in planning, design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure. This role will involve wastewater treatment, collection systems, pumping, distribution and storage.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of municipal water/wastewater experience, PE licensure, and strong communication and technical writing skills. The position includes mentoring staff and delivering innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering required; M.S. preferred.
• 15+ years in water and wastewater engineering consulting for municipal clients.
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure is required.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Experience preparing contract documents, drawings and specs for complex projects.
• Experience coordinating with interdisciplinary teams of engineers and other disciplines.
• Client-focused with a drive for innovative solutions.
• Collaborative and inclusive team player.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead teams to pursue water and wastewater opportunities and proposals.
• Lead engineering design of complex assignments, including hydraulic calculations and cost estimates.
• Develop technical reports, studies, and memoranda for client deliverables.
• Manage projects and resources: budgets, schedules, staffing, invoicing.
• Mentor staff and provide technical oversight and growth opportunities.
• Present project deliverables to clients.
