About the role
As a Senior Water Engineer, this position will support data center construction programs with water engineering support for site due diligence and water distribution and treatment systems.
This position is remote with minimal travel.
What you’ll do
- Review and assist in the technical development of due diligence & campus plan studies.
- Develop and optimize standard engineering programs for site planning purposes.
- Develop site planning standard engineering designs and tools to streamline the design process.
- Analyze utility usage data, identify optimizations, and help present recommendations to management.
- Assist in the development of water policy approach and enforcement.
- Review utility agreements and recommend technical guidance and verbiage.
- Plan onsite infrastructure using owner standards and guidelines.
- Coordinate scope with multiple subject area trades.
- Express complex ideas concisely through various digital mediums (design drawings, presentations, video conferences) both internally and externally.
- Work directly with clients to prepare all project elements, including scope of work, resource requirements, cost estimates, budget, work plan, schedule, quality control, and risk management.
- Define project delivery resources, conduct RFPs, evaluate bids, and recommend resources to clients.
- Facilitate the development of project charters and timelines.
- Collaborate on solutions and guide project teams through implementation and completion.
- Apply knowledge to develop new methods for achieving departmental objectives.
- Mentor colleagues to develop expertise within the function.
- Lead by example, modeling behaviors aligned with CBRE RISE values, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Impact customer, operational, project, and service objectives across multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to new products, processes, standards, and operational plans.
- Communicate complex ideas effectively, influencing others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-10 years of experience; alternative combination of experience and education considered.
- At least 4 years of experience in planning, design, and construction of utility projects.
- Practical knowledge of large-scale, complex data center infrastructure, utility treatment, and distribution systems is advantageous.
- Understanding of the commercial real estate industry, including financial analysis, project management, construction, ethics, business operations, marketing, and development.
- Knowledge of cross-disciplinary teams: structural, civil, IT/Telecom, mechanical, electrical, architectural.
- Innovative mindset to develop advanced solutions.
- Ability to solve unique problems with standard and innovative approaches.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and inquisitive mentality.
