Requirements include a High School Diploma, a minimum of 5 years' boiler experience, and a valid New York State driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Boiler Operations: Tend boilers to maintain correct pressure and safe water levels; clean and recondition them for inspections.
• Routine Maintenance: Clean/change fuel oil strainers, replace packing glands on leaking valves, and lubricate power house equipment.
• System Testing: Run the diesel generator and air compressor weekly to ensure optimal operating conditions.
• Monitoring & Records: Take hourly readings on steam, oil, water, air, and AC equipment; maintain boiler room logs.
• Chemical Treatment: Safely add required chemicals to boilers and fuel oil tanks.
