Job summary

City of Avondale, AZ seeks a Senior Water Reclamation Operator to oversee daily operation and maintenance of the Water Reclamation Facility (WRF). You will perform process control testing, monitor flow and chemical dosing, and advise on operational adjustments to ensure permit compliance.

This role requires a strong background in wastewater treatment, advanced technical knowledge, and the ability to work on-call on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
• ADEQ Wastewater Grade III certification must be obtained by hire and maintained.
• 3 years of experience in a wastewater treatment facility or similar.
• Valid Arizona Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain WRF infrastructure and equipment daily.
• Perform process control tests and adjust operations to meet permit requirements.
• Maintain accurate records using the CMMS and SOPs.
• Assist with inspections by regulatory agencies and vendor coordination.
• Provide training support to junior operators as needed.
