Job summary

City of Goodyear seeks a skilled Wastewater I Operator to maintain and operate the wastewater reclamation facilities, including lab testing, SCADA systems, and related equipment. The successful candidate will perform inspections, monitor process controls, and ensure regulatory compliance.

We value applicants with ADEQ Grade I certification (with preference for Grade II), a CDL with tanker endorsement, and experience with centrifuges, Hach WIMs, and Lucity asset management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field.
• Valid Driver’s License and ADEQ Grade I Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification; acquire ADEQ Grade II and CDL with tanker endorsement within 12 months of hire.
• Preference given to candidates with ADEQ Wastewater Grade II certification and CDL tanker endorsement.
• Experience operating centrifuges for dewatering sludge and performing wastewater lab testing.
• Experience with Hach WIMs, SCADA and Lucity asset management.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of wastewater facilities and related equipment; adjust flow and process parameters as needed.
• Operate and maintain equipment in the wastewater reclamation division; document operations and performance.
• Conduct wastewater process control laboratory analyses and ensure compliance with permit parameters.
• Record daily lab results and communicate important developments to supervision.
• Uphold OSHA and MAG safety standards and follow city policies.
• Provide input to supervisors regarding performance and day-to-day operations.
