Job summary

Evonik is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Certified Operator to act as the subject matter expert on wastewater operations at the site, ensuring 24/7/365 compliance across pretreatment lift stations and treatment systems. You will maintain regulatory reporting and work with engineers and maintenance crews to optimize reliability and environmental stewardship.

Requirements include a high school diploma (technical degree preferred), ten years in wastewater or related industrial operations, and

Qualifications

Ten years of wastewater treatment or related industrial operations experience.
Indiana Class D Wastewater Certification.
Strong communication, analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and process automation systems (SAP, DeltaV).

Responsibilities

Serve as the site's Certified Operator, ensuring compliance with NPDES, Title V, Pharma MACT and other regulations.
Provide operational and technical support for wastewater and stormwater treatment systems, using data to improve reliability and environmental stewardship.
Lead regulatory audits, inspections, permitting activities and corrective actions.
Support environmental operations through ESTER, TrackWise, Regulus, ELADIN, and SAP.
Drive process improvements, cost reduction and safety enhancements within budget objectives.
Collaborate with engineers, maintenance staff, contractors and operations teams on projects and maintenance activities.
Develop procedures, deliver training, and support operator licensing and continuing education.
Maintain compliance with plant safety policies and promote safe work practices.
