Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer in Arizona seeks a Senior Wastewater Project Engineer/Manager to lead complex wastewater infrastructure projects across Tempe, Tucson, and Goodyear.

You will manage design, permitting, reports, and construction support, coordinate with clients and internal teams, and drive successful delivery through multi-disciplinary collaboration. This role also emphasizes client development and professional growth with a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering required.
• PE license required.
• 12+ years experience in wastewater infrastructure including project management.
• Experience delivering multi-year projects in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in MS Office and common software; strong communication with staff, clients, and regulators.
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to present complex issues to nontechnical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical treatment strategies and design criteria; deliver projects.
• Coordinate with clients and internal specialists for project delivery.
• Plan, design, permit, and construct wastewater projects.
• Lead cross-disciplinary teams; manage budgets and schedules.
• Prepare assessment and design reports; perform design calculations.
• Support construction management and commissioning; travel as needed.
• Lead business development activities including proposals and interviews.
