Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer seeks a Site Civil Project Engineer to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects with a strong focus on site design for our Arizona offices located in Tempe, Tucson, and Goodyear.

This role involves hands‑on work in layout planning, piping systems, grading, paving, roadways, and stormwater infrastructure, as well as managing various stages of project development, from conceptual design to construction support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field.
• 5–8 years of relevant civil/site development experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills with internal teams and clients.
• Proficient in creating construction drawings for site layout, drainage and grading.
• Experience in facility and site design planning.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop site layout plans including yard piping, roadways, grading, stormwater systems, and paving for water/wastewater projects.
• Contribute to conceptual and preliminary design, field visits, data collection, alternatives analysis, and technical reporting.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and assist hydraulic modeling tasks.
• Navigate permitting processes and evaluate design alternatives.
• Coordinate work with sub‑consultants and ensure design integration.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic design deliverables.
• Provide construction‑phase support by reviewing submittals and RFIs.
• Conduct site reconnaissance and field investigations.
