Job summary

The City of Leander invites applications for a mid-level wastewater treatment operator to maintain and operate the plant responsibly. You will handle lab techniques, equipment calibration, and routine testing while coordinating with engineers and contractors.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 5+ years in wastewater treatment, and a valid TCEQ Class B license, plus a driver’s license. On-call rotation and after-hours duties may apply, with a Monday–Friday schedule subject to change.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduation or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years' work experience and/or technical training in wastewater treatment profession.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate the wastewater treatment plant system safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment and systems; coordinate with engineers and contractors.
  • Oversee plant operations and report potential or actual problems with recommended solutions.
  • Calibrate and monitor plant equipment; collect samples and record data.
  • Prepare written reports and perform calculations.
  • Respond to after-hours call outs and emergencies as needed.
