Job summary

Orange County Sanitation District is seeking a Senior Plant Operator to oversee complex operations and maintain wastewater treatment processes at our facility in Fountain Valley, CA. The role involves supervising staff in the absence of the Operations Supervisor and ensuring safe, efficient plant performance.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining equipment, coordinating with maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with specialized training in wastewater treatment plant operations.
• Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in wastewater treatment plant operations.
• Possession of a valid Grade III California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate.
• Possession of a valid California class C driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and participate in the more complex and difficult work of plant staff responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining plant equipment to control unit processes.
• Provide technical direction and assistance to plant operators and operators-in-training; assist with training and act as shift supervisor in absence of Operations Supervisor.
