Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber is seeking a Senior Engineer - Wastewater Planning & Modeling to lead sanitary sewer flow monitoring, hydraulic modeling, and system evaluations in Michigan. The role collaborates with municipalities and authorities across Farmington Hills, Lansing, and Grand Rapids.

You will manage projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to master plans and memos while engaging with clients and advancing business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
• 8+ years of experience in flow monitoring, modeling, and analysis of sanitary and storm sewer systems.
• Proficiency with EPA SWMM and PCSWMM; experience with InfoWorks ICM is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, including technical writing and client interaction.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead sanitary sewer flow monitoring programs, data review, and analysis.
• Develop, calibrate, and apply sanitary sewer and combined sewer hydraulic models.
• Perform wastewater collection system capacity evaluations and wet weather analyses.
• Prepare wastewater master plans, alternatives analyses, and technical memorandums.
• Analyze SSES data and support solutions for SSO, CSO, and basement backup concerns.
• Lead project management activities, client meetings, schedules, and budgets.
• Support proposals, scope development, and business development efforts.
