Job summary

City of Laredo is seeking a Wastewater Collections Operations Manager to oversee operations across multiple plants, lead supervisors, manage budgets, and coordinate improvement projects.

The role emphasizes responding to customer concerns, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining efficient field operations. Ideal candidates have extensive supervisory experience and knowledge of GIS and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Thirty (30) college hours from an accredited college or university.
• At least nine (9) years of experience in supervision of wastewater collection or water/wastewater treatment plant operations, including at least two years supervising personnel.
• Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) qualification/recognition requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, including hiring/termination decisions and performance appraisals.
• Manages division operations, including work orders, purchasing, requisitions, and payroll.
• Plans and organizes preventive maintenance of sewer lines and lift stations.
• Responds to customer concerns.
• Supervise field operations.
• Performs related work as required.
