Job summary

Montgomery County, Tennessee is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to drive and manage road trucks for receiving, distribution and movement of waste, recyclables, and leachate across county locations. The role requires at least five years of heavy equipment operation experience and a high school diploma, with a valid driver’s license (no CDL needed).

The position offers a starting hourly rate of $26.41 and requires flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays, with strong safety

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of heavy equipment operation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must hold a valid Driver’s License (No CDL needed).
• Pre-employment criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks (roll-offs, front loaders, tractor trucks pulling low-boy or tanker trailers).
• Haul leachate, recyclables, and trash.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle safety; perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Assist in upkeep of equipment, shop area, and facilities.
• Complete daily pre/post-operational vehicle inspections and report issues.
