Qualifications

• High school diploma (or GED) required with some customer service or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the operation of the convenience center on assigned shift to assist the public in disposal of discarded materials, waste and recyclables.
• Provides directions and assists the public in adhering to guidelines of waste disposal at the center.
• Instructs the public on recycling and ensures recyclables are separated as required.
• Communicates with base station via 2-way radio and reports container volume.
• Maintains logs and records concerning traffic and use of the center; keeps area clean.
• Maintains all equipment and cleans oil container strainers.
• Assists customers with unloading as needed.
• May fill potholes in the parking lot as needed.
• Operates a hydraulic compactor and follows safety requirements.
• Uses safety equipment (visor, extinguisher, vest, gloves, goggles) during tasks.
