Job summary

Performix is seeking a senior engineer to design and optimize the inner layout of a large warehouse transformation in California. You’ll plan product flow, line layout, and handling systems, driving lean improvements and space efficiency within a collaborative team of 3–4 engineers.

You will lead design initiatives, coordinate setup, and ensure high performance across reception, storage, and shipments while prioritizing ergonomics and scalable product lines (≈1000 items, 5000+ part numbers).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Senior-level experience in warehouse design/optimization.
• Ability to set up warehouse product lines as final decision maker.
• Proven track record in large-scale environments.
• Proficiency in CAD/drafting software.
• Strong SAP S4 Hana knowledge.
• Knowledge of databases (SQL, Tableau) is a plus.
• Knowledge of PIT and warehouse equipment.
• Experience with slotting, simulation tools (Flex, AutoCAD) and WMS.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan the inner layout of the warehouse transformation.
• Coordinate setup and optimize new warehouse design.
• Ensure optimized functioning and maximize efficiency and space utilization.
• Develop design by planning layout, product flow, and handling systems.
• Apply lean concepts to streamline processes and improve flow.
• Organize warehousing operations including reception, storage, order prep and shipments per SPS.
• Measure warehousing performance and implement corrective actions.
• Lead projects to design and optimize warehousing processes.
• Set up new product lines (≈1000 products and 5000+ part numbers).
• Join a 3–4 person team to design layout and placement of lines and parts.
• Consider ergonomics and efficiency in all designs.
