GPD Optoelectronics Corp. in Salem, NH is seeking a Senior Fabrication Engineer to manage the wafer processing operation in a semi-automated fab, supervise processes and operators, and drive ongoing upgrades.

The role reports to the COO and requires hands-on leadership of front-end and back-end steps. Ideal candidates have deep semiconductor fabrication experience, familiarity with III-V materials, and lean manufacturing know-how.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Physics degree (B.S or greater) and extensive semiconductor fabrication experience.
• Photodetector and III-V material experience desired.
• Able to meet requirements to work with ITAR and US export restricted items
• Lean or Six Sigma experience is beneficial.
• Attention to detail and above average hand eye coordination is required for this position.
• Must have good manual dexterity and be able to work with small components.
• Ability to use microscopes, screwdrivers tweezers, and other miscellaneous tools.
• Should be knowledgeable about handling and working the various adhesives and epoxies.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision.
• Good communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail

Responsabilités

• Wafer Fab Process Engineering – Process Development for improved process yield, cycle time, and overall throughput.
• III-V wafer fabrication for Photonics, especially InGaAs & Germanium strongly preferred.
• Front End Process: Photolithography, optical coatings, wet chemical processing, metallization, RIE & PECVD thin film deposition
• Back-end Process: Grinding, Lapping, Polishing, Saw, Scribe
• Data-centric approach for design, process control, and improvements
• Ability to forecast and implement upgrades for increased volume and new product production. Involves both capex and process innovation.
• Strong collaboration, relationship management, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to foster collaborative, cross department relationships to meet common objectives
• Problem solving ability with an organized & analytical approach
