Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Network Security Engineer specializing in VPN and remote access technologies. Focus areas include Tailscale, WireGuard, IPsec, and SSL-based VPNs with enterprise-scale deployment across multiple regions.

You will design, deploy, and secure remote access infrastructure, manage Linux-based systems, and automate deployments using Python and CI/CD pipelines. Onsite work in Texas is required, with strong collaboration across engineering and ops teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or 8+ years in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of network security experience required.
• Experience securing networks, IT infra, endpoints, and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME on network security, firewalls, zero-trust, and VPN best practices.
• Architect, deploy, secure, and manage enterprise remote access VPNs end-to-end.
• Configure VPN clients across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android.
• Manage Linux-based infrastructure and security systems with ownership.
• Develop automation and CI/CD workflows for deployment and policy enforcement.
• Implement zero-trust architectures and integrate VPN with security appliances.
• Serve as escalation point for complex network security and connectivity issues.
• Monitor VPN performance, logs, and security posture; drive resolutions.
• Apply system patches and continuous improvement of remote access environment.
