Job summary

The Amatriot Group is seeking a VPN Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain global network security solutions. Location: Norfolk or Pearl Harbor.

This full-time role requires DoD Secret clearance and is on-site with occasional on-call weekends. You'll configure Juniper firewalls, manage DMZs, and administer Cisco appliances while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability and security.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. degree and 8–12 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance.
• Active IAT Level III certification (CCNP Security, CISSP, or CASP+).
• Active Associate-level network vendor certifications (Cisco/Juniper/Palo/F5).
• Willingness to work off-hours and participate in on-call rotation.
• Extensive experience with VPNs, DMZs, firewalls, and secure network design.

Responsibilities

• Provide VPN, DMZ, and firewall SME support for the NMCI network.
• Collaborate with NOC and engineering teams to define security appliances and SOPs.
• Plan upgrades, perform maintenance, and coordinate incident management and change activities.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex routing, VPN, and security issues.
