Job summary

Critical Solutions is seeking a VPN/Firewall Network Engineer to support our federal customer in Norfolk, VA. You will design, implement, and maintain robust network security solutions using Juniper firewalls, DMZs, VPNs, and Cisco appliances to protect our global infrastructure.

This onsite role requires a DoD Secret clearance, a BS degree, IAT Level III certification, and a vendor cert (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or F5).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Active DoD Secret clearance is required.
• IAT Level III certification (CCNP Security, CISSP, or CASP+) required.
• Active Associate level Network Vendor Certification (Cisco/Juniper/Palo/F5) required.
• Ability to work on-call during off-hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide VPN, DMZ, and Firewall SME support for the Agency network.
• Collaborate with NOC and Engineering to improve network security and operations.
• Lead development of Network SOPs and incident management procedures.
• Plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance with stakeholders.
• Engage in Root Cause Analysis for incidents and problems.
