Walbec is seeking a Vice President of Safety to lead safety strategy across construction, materials production, transportation, and field operations. This executive will drive accountability, strengthen field relationships, and ensure every team member can work safely from planning through execution.

The role partners with operations and HR to integrate risk prevention into decisions and uses data to focus improvements, with safety results as a key measure of success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent credential is highly valued.
• Experience leading safety programs across multi-site operations.

Responsibilities

• Set safety vision and integrate risk prevention into business planning.
• Partner with Operations, HR, and leaders to own safe execution across sites.
• Guide high-consequence risk prevention and incident learning programs.
• Build a safety organization with clear accountability and field presence.
• Improve safety data, leading indicators, and performance reporting.
• Drive culture of reporting, stop-work decisions, and continuous improvement.
