Job summary

Mesirow Institutional Real Estate is seeking an Asset Manager with a strong operating background in multifamily properties to oversee performance, capital plans, and asset strategies across multiple markets.

The role works directly with the Portfolio Manager and Head of Asset Management to drive financial performance, coordinate with third‑party managers, perform inspections, and manage budgets for 8–10 assets in 4–5 markets across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in property management, real estate asset management, with a focus on multifamily properties.
• Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement comprehensive asset management plans to optimize the financial performance of selected individual assets.
• Collaborate with third‑party property management teams to ensure efficient day‑to‑day operations, including implementation of capital plans, driving top line growth, and stringently managing expenses.
• Conduct regular property inspections and assessments to identify maintenance needs, capital improvement opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Monitor financial performance against budgetary goals and proactively address variances.
• Will work on approximately 8-10 assets in 4 to 5 specific markets throughout the U.S.
