Job summary

BNY is seeking a senior member of the Derivatives and Hedging Technical Accounting team in New York to support treasury hedge programs. You will be a SME for US GAAP hedge accounting and collaborate with auditors and the treasury team to ensure compliant documentation.

The role requires a CPA with 10–20 years of experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to lead end-to-end controls, monitoring, and disclosure across global hedge activities.

Qualifications

• Experienced CPA with 10–20 years in hedge accounting or related audit.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP hedge accounting rules and applications.
• Strong communication with auditors, regulators and treasury teams.
• Excellent Excel skills and openness to new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Act as accounting SME in US GAAP Hedge Accounting; advise Treasury on new hedge strategies and monitoring.
• Ensure timely creation and approval of Hedge Documentation for approved hedge strategies.
• Review or create hypo trades representing risk components hedged.
• Review hedge documentation for compliance with documented hedge strategy.
• Perform reconciliation controls for hedge trades in designated hedge books.
• Finance manager supporting end-to-end hedge accounting and reporting of Treasury hedge activities.
• As manager, own end-to-end accounting controls for hedge programs, including monthly GL checks.
• Lead in implementing new hedge programs; ensure accounting systems segregate hedging derivatives for automation.
• Perform monthly and quarterly hedge effectiveness monitoring and reporting.
• Ensure corporate accounting policies reflect new hedge strategies.
• Act as contact to External Audit, Internal Audit, SOX and regulators for data requests.
