Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in category management, merchandising, strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, or related field.
• 7-10+ years of significant people leadership experience.
• Proven ownership of a large, complex category portfolio with measurable outcomes.
• Experience shaping enterprise strategy and influencing executive stakeholders.
• Strong financial acumen and analytical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Establishes vision and multi-year roadmap for a broad category portfolio, aligned with strategy and customer value.
• Identifies emerging categories and portfolio opportunities based on trends and market data.
• Integrates strategies across assortment, branding, pricing, promotion, space, marketing, digital, and supply chain.
• Allocates resources and investments across categories based on importance, growth potential, and financial return.
• Creates operating rhythms that improve category planning, decision quality, accountability, and execution across the org and supplier community.
• Owns portfolio-level performance including sales, gross margin, inventory productivity, and cash flow.
• Develops strategic financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and performance commitments.
• Sets portfolio guardrails and investment criteria for pricing, promotions, assortment, inventory, and vendor programs.
• Uses insights to identify performance gaps and accelerate corrective action.
• Defines supplier strategy, including segmentation and joint business planning, and negotiates high-value contracts.
• Translates corporate vision into merchandising priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Leads enterprise-wide initiatives requiring cross-functional alignment across Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and eCommerce.
• Builds and leads a high-performing organization of category leaders with clear development paths.
