Job summary

Liberty Mutual Investments in Boston seeks a Vice President to join the Public Leveraged Finance Research team, owning coverage across HY, Leveraged Loans, and Private Credit. You will generate alpha with PMs and traders, using both top-down and bottom-up analysis.

You will apply AI to accelerate due diligence, interpret market shifts, and support portfolio decisions. This role requires 7+ years of leveraged finance experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as an analyst making investment recommendations.
• Demonstrated expertise in leveraged finance across public and private markets.
• Effective written and verbal communication with multiple stakeholders.
• Leadership in applying AI to research while maintaining governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide deep analytical information and high conviction investment recommendations across HY, Leveraged Loans, and Private Credit.
• Own coverage areas including credit selection, sector expertise, and positioning.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and traders to generate alpha through timely views.
• Interpret market developments and implications for coverage universe and portfolio.
• Contribute to portfolio outperformance through security selection and sector positioning.
• Engage borrowers, advisors, and consultants in due diligence activities.
• Assess risk-return trade-offs in primary and secondary markets.
• Leverage AI to accelerate research and surveillance workflows and generate insights.
• Produce investment recommendations to PMs, Director of Research, and Investment Committees.
• Adopt a One Team/One Portfolio approach in decision-making.
